L.A. Lakers: Premier Seating & Suites

Buy Tickets $87 - $750 $125 - $750

L.A. might not have a whole lot of lakes, but we do have 16 NBA Championships to our name -- which happens to make our beloved Lakers one of the most dominant franchises in all of sports. And there's only one way to watch the best: in style (this is L.A., after all). Okay, so maybe you won't be shelling out for courtside seats between Jack and Leo, but that's not the only way to live it up while this exciting young team tears it up on the court. The STAPLES Center's Premier Level seating and Suites both treat you to a bit of the V.I.P. experience. Forget standing in concessions lines, because you can get everything from high-end burgers and sushi to scotch and margaritas served to you without leaving your Premier Level seats. Or kick back in a climate-controlled private suite, catch that slam-dunk instant replay on the in-suite plasma TVs and enjoy the game in luxury as the Lakers go for 17.

Something Rotten! -- Broadway's Hilarious Smash

Buy Tickets $49 - $60 $75 - $109

Direct from Broadway, Something Rotten! is a "big, fat hit!" (New York Post). Set in the '90s -- the 1590s, that is -- this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom (Tony nominee Rob McClure and Broadway's Josh Grisetti), two brothers desperate to write their own hit play while the "rock star" Shakespeare (Tony nominee Adam Pascal) keeps getting all the hits. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world's very first musical. With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, Something Rotten! is "The Producers plus Spamalot plus The Book of Mormon. Squared!" (New York Magazine). Don't miss this dazzling show when it comes to the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Robert Forster (Jackie Brown, Twin Peaks) co-stars in this world-premiere production at the Gil Cates Theater in Los Angeles.

Do you like observational humor and jokes that start with "here's what people do when ...?" Do you stay away from topical humor? Do you like jokes that play as well with a house of frat boys as they do with your mom? Then Dane Cook is the guy for you. His stand-up is filled with funny stories, off-kilter questions and quirky observations that will totally have you rolling. The Groundlings' Cookin' With Gas: L.A.'s Longest-Running Improv Show

Cookin' With Gas has been a weekly staple at the Groundlings since 1992, when Melanie Graham created the night to give members of the famed improv troupe's various companies a chance to come together and create short-form hilarity based on audience suggestions. But even though this particular show is now older than your average college student, don't expect it to be any more polite or respectable than, say, your average college student. With a rotating cast of Groundlings members and surprise special guests (who have included Ana Gasteyer and MADtv's Mo Collins), this is an improv comedy show that's boiling over with laughs.

Queen Elizabeth will someday pass on (we assume), and this future history play posits what will happen once Prince Charles finally gets his promotion. Hailed as 2015's best new Broadway play by Time, Entertainment Weekly and The New York Times, Mike Bartlett's King Charles III goes beneath the crowns and behind the tabloids as it explores the unwritten rules of Britain's democracy and the conscience of its most famous family. This modern-day riff on a Shakespearean political drama features Camilla, William, Kate and Harry, but centers on Prince Charles, who takes the throne after a lifetime of waiting only to face an ethical dilemma over a bill limiting the freedom of the press. He's taken us on a tasting tour of Victorian England's back alley pie shops (Sweeney Todd), through a magical fairy tale forest (Into the Woods) and even inside a work of art (Sunday in the Park with George). But never has Stephen Sondheim played a more raucous musical tour guide than in his laugh-out-loud ancient Roman comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The winner of six Tonys, Forum is one of the funniest musicals ever written, seamlessly merging situations from timeless Roman comedies with the fast-paced, slapstick energy of classic vaudeville. Experience the wild antics of the mischievous slave Pseudolus in this feel-good romp that sings and dances its way through mistaken identities, a house full of comely courtesans and an elaborate web of lies -- all adding up to one fun night of theater. Step into the Garry Marshall Theatre in Burbank and enjoy classic show tunes like "Lovely," "Bring Me My Bride" and the beloved Broadway showstopper that actually starts the show, "Comedy Tonight." Actor-singer Joey McIntyre (New Kids on the Block) is set to appear as Pseudolus from November 22 through December 10, and Paul Vogt (Hairspray Live, MADtv, Broadway's Chicago) stars November 17-19 and December 14-31.

A Christmas Story: The Musical Live on Stage

Buy Tickets $12.50 - $15 $25

A Christmas Story: The Musical, which received rave reviews on its Broadway run, is based on the movie classic that runs round-the-clock on television every Christmas. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts -- an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Rebuffed at every turn with a similar echoing response, Ralphie plots numerous schemes to achieve his desperate desire for the coveted BB gun. All the iconic scenes from the movie are here: Ralphie's friend, Flick, getting his tongue stuck to the flagpole; his brother, Randy, getting dressed in his snowsuit; the bullies, Farkus and Dill; the leg lamp award; the bunny suit; the Chinese restaurant; Christmas dinner; and many others. The delightfully versatile score ranges from gentle ballads to show-stopping full-ensemble numbers such as "Ralphie to the Rescue!" "A Major Award," "Sticky Situation," "Up on Santa's Lap," "Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana" and the inevitable "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!" A Christmas Story: The Musical will bring an exciting new dimension to those who have seen the movie and will certainly stand on its own for those who haven't. This production at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center is by Actors' Repertory Theatre of Simi.

Imagine the earworm melodies of a pop hit sung with the so-beautiful-you-could-cry harmonies of a piece of sacred choral music by Handel (you know, the "Hallelujah!" guy). That's the enchanting blend you get from The Tenors, three guys with some serious pipes -- and the multiplatinum album sales to prove it. But they've also got some serious diva cred: they've performed on Oprah -- with Celine Dion, no less -- and for the Queen of England at her Diamond Jubilee. And their male fans aren't too shabby, either -- Paul McCartney? Neil Young? They've sung a harmony or two together. They've brought the warm-and-fuzzy with a previous holiday album, The Perfect Gift, and now they're back for round two with Christmas Together, a mix of seasonal favorites and original songs. Get in the spirit of the coming holidays as The Tenors come to the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills for this concert.

Ah, families. Everyone thinks theirs is crazy, but it'd be hard to out-crazy Mortimer Brewster's relatives. One brother thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, the other is a homicidal maniac who's had plastic surgery to look like Boris Karloff. And his two sweet spinster aunts? Well, they poison lonely old men and bury them in the basement. The play of, course, is Arsenic and Old Lace, the farcical black comedy classic (later a movie starring Cary Grant) that paved the way for the likes of the Coen brothers, Quentin Tarantino and every other writer who's dared to spike their comedy with a dose of murder. But there's nothing like seeing these macabre shenanigans play out on stage, so come out to the Long Beach Playhouse -- and settle in for a killer classic comedy.

Rhinoceros: Absurdist Comedy Skewers Mob Mentality

Buy Tickets $17 $34

Eugene Ionesco was the master of the Theater of the Absurd, a dramatic genre where the world is incomprehensible and anything can happen. His play Rhinoceros, at Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, is set in a small village where the inhabitants are transforming, one by one, into rhinoceroses. Only Bérenger, the central character, seems immune to the metamorphosis. The Los Angeles Times praised Rhinoceros for its "precise comic timing and cleanly individuated characterizations." Written during the aftermath of World War II, the Ovation Recommended play served as a harsh criticism of the circumstances that led to widespread acceptance of fascism and Nazism. To this day, it remains a pointed and timely critique of conformity, mass culture and allowing society to set the definition of morality.

L.A. multicultural music icons Ozomatli are headed to The Canyon in Agoura Hills, armed with their signature mix of hip-hop, salsa, dancehall, samba, funk, garage rock, raga and more. Within a year of releasing their 1998 debut, these hometown heroes started touring with the legendary Carlos Santana. The following year, they scored a "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album" Grammy for their 2001 album Embrace the Chaos and nabbed another statue in 2005. Nearly 20 years since exploding onto the scene, Ozomatli's shown no signs of slowing down, having played for the President, composed a theme song for the Dodgers and even served as Cultural Ambassadors for the U.S. State Department. All the while, they've been electrifying audiences with live shows that are more like high-energy house parties than concerts.
